Project Description
Designed by Integrus and built by LCi, the replacement of Artondale Elementary School occurred on a fully occupied, operational campus. The new school is 77,175 sf, two-story building with 3,822 sf covered play structure, and site improvements including new playfields, parking, and bus/parent drop-off. A challenge that LCi successfully navigated was the electrical utility’s inability to provide sufficient power concurrently to both the existing school and the newly built school. LCi’s solution was to provide generator support and temporary tie-ins to the new school so that systems could be tested and commissioned.
The existing school remained occupied until the new school was constructed and tied into new utility systems and power. The electrical utility was not able to supply sufficient power to the new building and the existing building concurrently. LCi provided generator support and temporary tie in’s so the building systems could be tested and commissioned until occupancy could occur of the new school and the electrical utility could complete the full power change over.
